How to Become a Just Matrimony Celebrant
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
Note: You must be legally empowered to perform marriages to become a Just Matrimony Celebrant
- If you would like to be listed on our website as a Just Matrimony supporter and/or as a Just Matrimony Celebrant, please send a request to our office.
- Just Matrimony brochures will be sent to your address. You can preview the brochure or download it to your printer now by clicking here (PDF).
- During pre-wedding interviews, take a moment to introduce the brochure and its information on marriage equality. Don’t be afraid to share your personal feelings with couples. Two people joyously planning their new life together understand the practical benefits of marriage, and they often can imagine the pain gay and lesbian couples experience by being denied this right. A couple may not agree with your stand, but at least they will be better aware of the facts and of your dilemma. Your role is to plant a seed.
- For those couples that do support marriage equality, encourage them to take a stand. They can make a donation to help raise awareness and to fight for the right of all committed couples to marry. If they choose to donate to Just Matrimony, they can opt to place the words “This is a Just Matrimony Ceremony” on their wedding invitations or programs. Some Just Matrimony celebrants have committed to sending in a portion of their fees for our cause, when the couple chooses not to. This is your personal ethical choice.
